Guest
Well Ace, no one has any NA remains that are 7 feet tall. The only record I've ever seen stating unusual height for Native Americans was in DeSoto's log/diary that we studied in the ninth grade in my Alabama History class. DeSoto specifically mentioned Cheif Tuscaloosa and his son as being extraordinarily tall, everyone else was average height. To me, a seven foot tall authentic skeleton that was found in that area of Alabama would be significant because the exact location for that battlefield where DeSoto was ambushed isn't known. If we could trace where the skeleton came from, if nothing else, it could potentially lead to that battlefield, assuming it is a legitimate skeleton and Native American. Of course, if it is a bigfoot skeleton, that's even better. Jodie, A BF program "Finding Bigfoot" said that the *average* height of a BF is 7 feet 10 inches. Guest
There is no way of knowing the average height of a bigfoot. This number is being pulled out of thin air. Matt Moneymaker and his research group in their new series named Finding Bigfoot took measurements from several sources and came up with that average. Remember young BF may be shorter than older BF just like human children. I believe that they could be correct with their 7' 10" measurement because that is an average, and they are including youngsters if they were seen and reported. The program is fabulous. I'm recording and keeping these shows.
Guest
Don't bones exposed to the air and sunlight become lighter with time? The physician who received the bones had to be in his late 70's and still working back then when we sorta investigated the Bones, and asked him about them. Whatever or whoever they may have been, they were real 20+ plus years ago. I think that would depend on how they were treated as touched on by Hairyman. I can take a close look at some deer & elk skulls tomorrow that I've had dating back 30 yrs, but that's not all that long, and only a few have seen daylight. However, bone will bleach from direct prolonged sunlight but I doubt your specimen was that exposed. I could see bone getting tanned (darker) over time if the sunlight was moderate. But a lot of that would prob also depend on how and if it was initially treated. Of course the plastic its likely been replaced with will age altogether differently. Guest watch1
Back in the late 70s, I was working up in Selma on a railroad bridge that was being built. I spent a few weeks up there and I remember eating in the place with the skeleton and the Rebel flag. I didn't think to much of it at the time as I just thought it was a imitation and not real. Not something you find every day..for sure. Selma also has an Arts and Crafts fair in the same area and I think I saw it while walking around the crafts fair. They called him "Mortimer" Here is a link to some info. Mortimer More info I found. Guest vilnoori
Human giants do have some thickening of the brow and other features that are out of the norm and that resemble archaic forms of humans, take for example, 7 ft. tall former Russian boxer Nilolay Valuev: That's why it would be important to look at the distinguishing features I mentioned, such as the premolars. The foot morphology I would expect to be the same as modern foot morphology since most of the changes in form between early humans and modern humans have happened in the soft tissue of the foot, particularly the ligaments. The measurement comparison of length of arms and legs would need to be looked at, so take a tape measure, Jodie, and just measure those lengths if you have a chance. Guest BuzzardEater
Thanks,V! There haven't been any Valuev sightings for years! I still think he is a type of human.

I will V, I haven't heard whether Mike wants to follow up with this, I'll give it a few more days, if I don't hear from him then I'll call the restaurant myself and go from there. Jodie, I am not trying to embarrass you, but the more I get to know you, the more impressed I am with your abilities and knowledge regarding to all things BF, and ancestral characteristics of Indians and Caucasians. You are a very special lady. I have a BSN, but I have nothing like the knowledge you do. Now I wish that I had gone back to school and studied subjects such as Anthropology, Archeology, science courses where I could add to the research and be helpful in the field like Botany. Now I'm afraid that I would be a burden instead of helpful, especially since hubby refuses to let me go out to do anything woods and BF related without him. Hubby has too good of a memory... and I need to learn to keep my mouth shut. Now that I think about it HUBBY would be a real asset to any BF searches. He was an Eagle Scout, smarter than smart, and never says die nor gives up. I'll send him and I'll stay home.. I'm not sure that I could keep up with all of those macho men BF hunting...I'll stay home and bake cookies for them.... safely, as long as I don't burn the house down.
