Originally from Oregon in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains I now reside in AZ.  I have had three experiences, I cannot call them encounters because I do not know if they were Bigfoot related.  All of the experiences happened many years ago in Oregon.

 

My first (not chronological) experience happened in the Snow Peak area when I was approximately 15 years of age.  My friend and I (he was 2 years older) had driven up to Crabtree lake to fish.  This is a place that we had been many times and it was a beautiful little lake.  We had been fishing for approximately 45 minutes when the hair on my body started standing up and I felt as though I was being watched.  I am getting goose bumps now just typing this.  I had wanderered around the lake from my friend and we were a few hundred yards apart.  I kept fishing for awhile until I could no longer ignore what I was feeling.  I wandered back around the lake to my friend and told him I was feeling creeped out like someone was watching me.  I still remember the incredulous look on his face.  He looked at me and said, "You too? Let's get the hell out of here."  Now, I can't tell you what caused this feeling, but both of us had it.  We left the lake and I have not been back there since.

 

Later in life I moved to AZ and met a man who is very interested in Bigfoot.  He asked me, since I was from the Pacific Northwest, what were my thoughts on Bigfoot.  I told him I thought it was in the realm of possibility.  This sparked a new interest for me in regards to Bigfoot and I started listening to Sasquatch Chronicles podcast.  It was there that I realized I may have had two other experiences after listening to some of the stories and learning about their behavior.

 

Experience #2:  I was about 12 years old and my father and I were deer hunting in the Cascade Range.  We had driven out a logging road and stopped on an old landing surrounded by re-prod.  We could not see the bottom of the landing due to the thick re-prod near the edge but we could see across the the other side to glass for deer.  We noticed what looked like fir cones being thrown up into the trees away from us.  My dad thought it must be a bear, but even at 12, I could not wrap my head around how a bear would grasp and throw the cones uphill into trees.  We observed this for a few minutes and then left.

 

Experience #3:  I was 17 years of age and myself and two friends decided we were going on a camping trip.  We decided that we would take a little aluminum boat with a small motor and go to Green Peter Reservoir.  After we put in, we would motor up the reservoir a little ways and find a suitable place to camp away from other so we could drink the beer that we were planning on bringing.  After camp was set up we were sitting around the fire in the early evening, just at twilight.  There was a light breeze blowing, had to be less than 1 or 2 mph, very slight, when all of a sudden, what sounded like a large tree cam crashing down in the timber behind us.  We all thought nothing of it other that a tree must have rotted and fallen down.  I did not notice anything untoward for the rest of the trip.

 

I do not know if any of these experiences had anything to do with Bigfoot, but I have felt that it is entirely possible for Bigfoot to exist for many years.  After learning about their behavior by listening to podcasts, these experiences certainly fall within that possibility.  I am about 95% convinced that they exist, but I am not a knower.

Hello my name is Samuel I live in northern Georgia, used to live in south FL. I had a couple strange experiences when I was a young kid in the woods around our house, we used to play manhunt and build forts ride bikes all over. And a couple times out in the woods we heard some strange screams, sometimes howls and a few whoops. I never thought about it being bigfoot when I was a kid. But years later (like 20+ years) I got into the subject because I was intrigued that there could be some creatures out there in the wilderness that we haven't discovered yet. Really during the Covid lockdowns did alot of searching on the subject. Then I listened to some audio files of known bf sounds and they seemed eerily similar to what we had heard in the woods as kids building forts in remoted areas around south FL, and it kind of gave me a chill down my back about it. So now I'm just trying to find out what is really out there that we don't know about. I needed a hobby to pass the time I moved up to Georgia to take care of my grandparents my grandfather has bad Alzheimers so its a day to day process taking care of him, he pretty much needs a baby sitter all the time. So I thought learning more about this subject was a good way to take my mind off of what's going on with him. I actually heard there are alot of sightings out in this area of Georgia, there is a bf museum like 30 mins down the road that I want to get to eventually, I heard it's got alot of great info.

Thank you for that ya it's just one day at a time, my aunt and sister came up here to help me so I'm not overloaded. I'll check out the other parts of the forums here shortly.

Dawg, If you post your encounter in the Midwest section of sightings of the forum I would love to hear about it. I am from Michigan so It is great to hear about another encounter from Michigan. Even though it took placed in the 80's.

I’ve been interested in the Bigfoot phenomenon since childhood after hearing about a sighting my aunt’s brother had in rural western Ky in the 1970’s. I find the subject fascinating and look forward to what this form has to offer.
