salubrious Posted October 28, 2015 Moderator Posted October 28, 2015 Grass follows the same rules of taking an impression as does mud or sand. Vacuum your carpet and then walk through it and you will clearly see tracks in the right light. In grass and forest debris tracks are called 'compressions'. They should not be discounted as quite a lot of information can be obtained from them by an experienced tracker.
JKH Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I figured as much about the impressions, but it is the details available to the trained eye that interest me. I suppose that photos of compressions are not very useful, but maybe I can find a couple to discuss via pm, if you don't mind.
LeafTalker Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Leaftalker, I guess I was just assuming that it was a human being trying the car doors, though I could be wrong? I say that because my dad used to have things stolen from the garage before he started locking it up and we are pretty certain we know who was doing it. That is really cool about seeing a print on the truck handle and about Chris Noels experience!! So I guess you never know. I didn't see anything on the car the following morning though. Bummer, that there was no hand print! But yeah, you're right, you never know -- until you do, I guess. What kinds of things were getting stolen from the garage? And whom did you suspect, and why? Just curious.
Guest Maggie Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 The items stolen from the garage were various mechanical tools of my dads. They suspect a kind of sketchy neighbor guy. Another time they came home and someone, probably him, was in the house, they heard whoever it was hurriedly exiting the back door. Not sure HOW he got in. They are uber paranoid now about security.
LeafTalker Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Yikes! I would be uber paranoid about security, too. Interesting. Well, the BF have been known to enter homes, and to "borrow" equipment. Did any of the tools ever reappear?

Guest Maggie Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Yikes. I had an encounter last night(early morning actually) that was without a doubt a person so not bigfoot related but still freaked me out a little. I woke up between 2 and 3 am to the neighbors dog barking, mine for some reason were silent. I heard something snarl at it and I thought, "okay, it's having a fight with another dog". Then I heard this person (?) start walking down the street in front of the house snarling/growling/talking to himself. WEIRD. My biggest hope was that he just kept on going!! I think I would rather deal with an animal any day than some people. I mean, who does that????
Nipissing Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 That's a bit scary! I think I'd prefer a sasquatch in the yard any day. Are there a lot of homeless/transient people in the area?
LeafTalker Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Maggie, that sounds like a visit from a BF, to me. They do what sounds like snarl/growl/talk. If your dogs weren't barking, it's because they're used to whoever it was who was visiting you. And the "person" they would most likely have become accustomed to would be a hairy one. Here's the thing. The BF make strange noises. We don't "speak" BF fluently, so we're not always sure how to interpret it. But if he's been around enough that the dogs don't see him as a threat, he is most likely not one. Here's the MK Davis video about the shed talker (couldn't find the original vid, but this will do): And here's the audio from the bottle-tosser video: Did what you hear sound anything like this? Again, they make noises that sound strange to us, but noises that don't always "mean" what they sound like they do. Just don't want you to worry! If you haven't been hurt, and your dogs haven't been hurt -- and have even acquiesced to the presence of this visitor (because they're used to him) -- I think you're okay!
Redbone Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 **This is not bigfoot related** Can any of the good photo editor's edit this photo so i can so the figure in the picture, its a deer but i can not see its head to see if it has antlers lol i doubt it doe but wondering if anyone can do their magic. Thanks I "manipulated" your photo and found a deer. I don't see antlers but it appears to be smoking a cigar! More seriously, I don't think there is enough detail to see antlers but you can sort of make out the head.
Guest Squatchologist Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 ^HAHAHA redbone, i appreciate the effort.
Guest Maggie Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Leaftalker, Nipissing, been thinking about it on and off all day. As far as homeless people, I suppose it's possible? Little town of about 400 people. When he/ it was walking on the street right across from the house I felt so sick I thought I was going to throw up. Person or whatever it didn't SOUND at all sane. A Sasquatch? Maybe? I just thought it sounded like a deranged person. On that note, I have checked and rechecked doors and windows tonight, lol
LeafTalker Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Hi, Maggie. I'm so sorry you felt so sick when you heard those vocalizations. Makes perfect sense to me that you would! I've heard a couple of what I call "hello growls", but they were soft sounds. I've never anything that sounded like a crazy person talking to himself. I do think BF can sound that way, though. Did you make any changes in your yard the other day? Did you clean up some brush or move it around, or put away some barrels (of dog food?) that used to be outside the house, or anything like that? I ask because sometimes when people live near BF and make changes in their yards, it can freak out the BF a little. They come to rely on things being a certain way at the house, and change can be unsettling. For example, that second video -- the one MK Davis used to call the bottle tosser video -- actually documents a BF throwing a loaf of bread. The owner of the property where that video was recorded used to put out candy bars for the BF at that spot, but sometime before the recording was made, he put out a loaf of bread instead. Apparently the BF was a little upset by this and threw the bread away and made those vocalizations. So your muttering visitor might have discovered that you raked some leaves or moved some brush, and was feeling a little put out. Did you make any changes that might've been apparent to a frequent visitor to your yard? And here's a link to the video where MK Davis updates us on what the bottle tossing was really about (starting at 4:28):
JKH Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 (edited) Leaf is right. I have a recording of one or two somebodies trucking near the device, with quiet snarls, for whatever reason. Edited November 10, 2015 by JKH
