LeafTalker Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Hi, Maggie! I've been thinking about you and the incident from a year ago. Good luck tomorrow. From what I can tell, there are such things as dog people, with legs like the BF, but with faces that are more dog-like, and they seem to be a lot like the BF people (which is good). Then there are more wolf-like people, with legs like dogs -- NOT legs like people -- and I personally would not be crazy-happy to run into one of them. But if you run into someone who's 'just' a dog person, you're still in good company. Hope your visitor last year was 'just' a dog person -- but with your spidey sense of things, and the prints you found, it could've been one of the not-so-nice ones. But even the not-so-nice ones come and go, so if it was one of them, hopefully they've moved off! And actually, I think it's good news that that being DID move off that day, and didn't do anything to you guys. I think you have a great attitude, and attitude always matters, even in the gravest of situations. So keep shining your personal light, and thanks for the reminder that even the bad guys won't be interested, if we're not that interested in them. And have a great Thanksgiving! Your reports are a lot of fun, and something to be grateful for.
Guest Maggie Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) Well. I am back from the family place. A couple odd occurrences though I am trying not to make any definite statements about them. We had Thanksgiving at my sisters and then myself, parents, middle daughter and boyfriend and youngest son went back to the family place. Thursday night I didn't notice anything and to my knowledge neither did anyone else, though my daughter said Wednesday when they arrived, she had forgotten something in the car and had to go out to get it. She said she was NOT comfortable at all, though since they have been living in Chicago she probably isn't used to being out in the country again. On to last night....my Dad and Mom were talking about one of the neighbor dogs acting terrified and trying to get into the house. Those dogs have NEVER done that. They know the area. They know where their house is. The dog didn't stop trying until it heard it's owner calling it. Maybe my parents and it's owner caused whatever was frightening it to move off, I just don't know. As I am telling this, I need to backtrack because I just remembered that a few weeks ago my mom telling me about another dog, they thought it was either a stray or someone visiting the neighbors, desperately trying to get into the house. My middle daughter (who has had her fair share of experiences out there) and her boyfriend wanted to sit out on the steps and look at the stars. From what they said they just don't get that kind of view in the city, lol. A few seconds after stepping out the door, my middle daughter came back in for a minute and asked my dad if there was something wrong with their sewer.....but upon further discussion, where they were smelling this was the exact opposite of where the sewer system is. Earlier, her boyfriend said he smelled it while up in the bedroom on that side of the house. Needless to say they didn't stay out there for a long period of time and my daughter said she felt nervous. I told her that maybe they had opened the vents from the hog barn down the road a ways and maybe that is what she was smelling. But even as I said that I couldn't really believe it because of growing up there she is able to differentiate between certain smells. Also, maybe 15 to 20 minutes later, there was no smell. We do have other varieties of wildlife around there too...bear, cougars, possibly wolves, coyotes, bobcats etc. (a little off topic but the town I live in just euthanized a wolf that had killed two calves. Apparently it had been around spring and summer with no problems but then killed the calves and they decided not to relocate it because it was a livestock killer.) so I HAVE to not jump to conclusions, I have to consider all possibilities.Though considering everything that has happened out there over the years is easier said than done!! Oh and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone too!! Edited November 28, 2015 by Maggie
LeafTalker Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 So glad to hear that the creature with the canine-like prints didn't make a reappearance! Also, I know what you mean about trying to consider all possibilities, but I hope you're only doing that if it means something to YOU to do that. What anybody else thinks is immaterial. Always trust your gut (and it sounds like you do always do that, which I very much admire). Thanks for the update! Always fun to hear about other people's experiences with their night-time visitors.
Guest Maggie Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Thank you Leaftalker. I try to "trust my gut" and it generally does not steer me wrong. I guess I just find it beneficial even then, to reason things through, if that makes any sense and not jump to conclusions? I mean, I know what I know (my daughter's boyfriend was doubtful and my daughter looked at him and said "there were many times I wanted to doubt what was happening and mom would tell me to go right ahead, all the while with that laugh of hers. I never came out on the winning end of those bets...") but I want to be clear headed about it. So yes, it does mean something to me.
LeafTalker Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Then you are living a life in harmony with your true self, which is an awesome thing. Rock on.
Guest Maggie Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Will be around the family place some this weekend so will keep my eyes and ears open.
LeafTalker Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Looking forward to the report (if you have one)!
Guest Maggie Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Absolutely nothing this weekend. It happens.
Guest Maggie Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I was sitting in the living room at the family place last night when I heard something hit the side of the garage HARD....made me jump a little, lol
Guest Maggie Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 LOL, something of that sort possibly....
salubrious Posted December 22, 2015 Moderator Posted December 22, 2015 A cabin slap, only on a garage?
Incorrigible1 Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 A single thump is sign of bigfoot? Couldn't possibly be a passerby or a late-flying bird? Nope, default conclusion: Bigfoot. What else could it be?
